テーマの概要
My research focuses on understanding how emerging environmental pollutants, particularly per- and polyfluoroalkyl substances (PFAS) and microplastics, affect aquatic organisms and potentially impact human health. These contaminants are increasingly detected in water systems worldwide and are known for their persistence and bioaccumulation in the environment. Using aquatic model organism, zebrafish, my work investigates how exposure to these pollutants influences development, physiology, and behavior. By combining experimental toxicology with molecular and cellular analyses, this research aims to identify the biological mechanisms underlying pollutant-induced toxicity. The ultimate goal is to better understand the ecological and health risks posed by environmental contaminants and to provide scientific evidence that can support environmental protection and public health policies.
